Lake House

Riley got to visit Aunt Rae and Uncle Wayne's lake house this weekend.  Grandma and Papa were there too! Riley loved the wide open space!  She crawled around all over the place.  She really enjoyed the hard wood floors.  She would try to pick at every knot in the wood, much to her dismay they never became accessible to put in her mouth.  She did get to enjoy the delicious stone on the bar.  All the crawling and attention must have worn her out because she took really good naps!  

Riley also spent her first night away from Mommy and Daddy!  It was really sad to watch her drive off - a few tears were shed.  We spent our first childless night eating dinner at Chuys then going to a movie and sleeping in until 9:00am!  Happy 3 year anniversary to us! Grandma and Papa said she did great! She is 9 months old today, so I guess she was ready for a little independence.  Riley is now sound asleep in her bed - it feels good to have the whole family back together again! :)

A visit from Nala and Grandpa K

A few weekends ago Nala and Grandpa K came for a visit.  Riley had a wonderful time with them!  They played with her all day long!  We had to take advantage of March Blooms at the Arboretum while they were in town.  Here are some pictures of the beautiful day.

Nala and Grandpa K got Riley some new things while they were visiting.  This book is one of them.  Riley loves being read too, even when she is on the go!  She had a wonderful time with her Nala and Grandpa K!

A gift from Papa

Yesterday we went to Irving to spend time with Gianna.  When we arrived at Grandma and Papa's house we were surprised to find BIG, adorable bears on the couch waiting for Riley and Gianna.  Sweet Papa  gave his girls a valentine gift!

Actually, Gianna was a little afraid of Riley.  She would scream like this whenever Riley came close.  We think she was just tired.

Aunt Bec was great at distracting her.  She made both of the girls laugh!  We had a fun day with Gianna and Papa and the bears!

Naps

Riley has never been a good napper.  Now that she is mobile it's worse.  She cries and crawls around all over her crib.  She plays in her crib.  Here is another picture of how she passed out after about 30 minutes of crawling around. Maybe we need to take the cute, comfy bumpers out. :(   I guess we should be thankful she sleeps through the night!

Snow Pics and Standing

What a surprise to see the ground covered with snow this morning!  We took some better pictures of Riley in the snow.  There are also some pics of her pulling up and standing.  She is growing so quickly!

7 Months - Slow Down Riley!

Riley changed a lot at seven months.  Her first and biggest change is that she started crawling all over the place!  She also pulls up on everything, eats a variety of baby foods, and she has developed new sleeping positions.

Then she sticks her face in between the bars to let us know she is ready to get out.

The weather has been bitter cold here in Texas.  So much so that we have had some snow and ice on the ground.  Of course we needed to let Riley experience it! Thank goodness Nala bought her a winter coat and Mama gave her a warm hat! :)

Christmas Day

On Christmas day we opened a few presents at home, then we went to Mama's house for lunch and an Ashworth (Kenten's mom's side of the family) family gift exchange.   After that we traveled to Papa and Grandma's house.  Riley really eats up all the attention!  She wanted to be with all the people so much that she didn't take a single nap the whole day!  That made for her first, and hopefully last, rough night!

The girls finally got to meet their Aunt Janelle and Uncle Joe!  They gave the girls some fun pacifiers.  Riley loved sitting on Uncle Joe's lap even though he made her look funny.

Sneaky Uncle Ryan was in the other room giving Riley cool whip!

Edna Wasn't able to come to Mama's for Christmas because she wasn't feeling well. :( Below is a picture of the cute outfit she gave Riley for Christmas.

Grandpa K and Nala came into town that evening.  Riley enjoyed spending a week with them too!
